Senior Software Engineer

San Francisco, CAFull-time

About the Role

Rippletide is hiring a Senior Software Engineer in San Francisco to build the core systems that power our Decision Context Graph β€” the enforcement and auditability layer that makes enterprise AI agents production-ready. You will work on performance-critical backend infrastructure, APIs, and SDKs used by engineering teams at some of the world's most demanding organizations. This is a high-ownership role on a small, talented team building at the frontier of AI infrastructure.

What You'll Do

  • Architect and implement the backend services, APIs, and SDKs that form the core of Rippletide's Decision Context Graph platform.
  • Own end-to-end reliability and performance of your systems β€” from design to deployment to on-call support.
  • Collaborate with the Research team to translate neuro-symbolic AI breakthroughs into production-ready components.
  • Build developer-facing tooling, integrations, and reference implementations that reduce time-to-value for enterprise customers.
  • Participate in architecture reviews, engineering planning, and cross-functional technical conversations as a senior contributor.
  • Work closely with the Solutions Engineering team to troubleshoot complex customer deployments and drive feedback into the product.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience with deep proficiency in Python, Go, Rust, or C++.
  • Track record of shipping and maintaining complex distributed systems in production at scale.
  • Strong grasp of graph data structures, inference algorithms, or knowledge representation is a meaningful plus.
  • Experience building public APIs and developer-facing SDKs; you think about ergonomics and developer experience.
  • Self-directed, comfortable with ambiguity, and energized by working on systems with real enterprise stakes.
  • Based in or willing to relocate to San Francisco.
  • Entrepreneur mindset β€” you treat problems as opportunities, take ownership instinctively, and move with urgency.

Nice to Have

  • Background in AI/ML infrastructure, LLM tooling, or agent orchestration platforms.
  • Experience with graph databases or distributed knowledge representation systems.
  • Open-source contributions or technical writing in a relevant domain.
  • Previous experience as a founder or co-founder.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary and meaningful early-employee equity.
  • A front-row seat to the enterprise AI revolution β€” your systems will run inside critical workflows at major organizations.
  • San Francisco office at 2 Embarcadero with flexible remote options.
  • Full US benefits including health, dental, and vision.
  • Learning budget for conferences, research, and open-source contributions.
