Senior AI Engineer
About the Role
Rippletide is building the next generation of AI decision infrastructure, and we need a Senior AI Engineer to lead the design and development of our core hypergraph reasoning engine. You will work at the intersection of graph theory, machine learning, and distributed systems to create the foundation that powers production-grade AI agents for enterprise clients. This is a high-impact role where your engineering decisions will directly shape the architecture of a platform used by some of the world's most demanding organizations.
What You'll Do
- Architect and implement the hypergraph reasoning engine that serves as the backbone of Rippletide's AI agent platform, ensuring correctness, performance, and scalability.
- Design efficient graph traversal and inference algorithms optimized for real-time decision-making across complex, multi-hop knowledge structures.
- Build robust APIs and SDKs that allow internal teams and external developers to interact seamlessly with the reasoning engine.
- Collaborate closely with the Research team to translate neuro-symbolic breakthroughs into production-ready components with rigorous testing and observability.
- Own the performance benchmarking pipeline, continuously profiling and optimizing latency, throughput, and memory usage under production workloads.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, with deep expertise in Python, Rust, or C++ in performance-critical systems.
- Strong understanding of graph data structures, knowledge representation, and reasoning algorithms such as belief propagation or constraint satisfaction.
- Proven track record of shipping and maintaining complex backend systems in production at scale.
- Experience with distributed computing frameworks and the ability to reason about consistency, fault tolerance, and horizontal scaling.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset β you thrive in small, fast-moving teams tackling ambiguous problems.
Nice to Have
- Research background or publications in knowledge graphs, graph neural networks, or automated reasoning.
- Hands-on experience with LLM integration, retrieval-augmented generation, or agent orchestration frameworks such as LangChain or AutoGen.
- Familiarity with GPU-accelerated graph analytics or CUDA programming.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary and meaningful equity in an early-stage, well-funded startup shaping the future of AI infrastructure.
- Flexibility to work from our Paris or San Francisco offices, with generous remote-work options.
- A culture of intellectual rigor and creative freedom β we publish research, attend top conferences, and encourage open-source contributions.
- Comprehensive benefits including health coverage, learning stipends, and relocation assistance for the right candidate.
